Věžický rybník

Sandstone meets the water surface directly here. At Věžák, the main agenda may be to simply stop and observe the landscape.

Věžický rybník, often called Věžák, belongs to Podtrosecké údolí. Its recognizable feature is the rocks near the water. In contrast to the viewpoint, where you look into the distance, here attention is drawn to the close relationship between the stone, the surface and the trees. The reflection can disappear with the wind in a moment and reappear; therefore, the visit does not have to stop at a single pre-dreamed photo.

Looking at the water from the road

Choose a safe spot on a public road for observation and allow yourself a few minutes without moving. Try capturing the same section once with the sky and a second time with just the reflection. A nice view is not a reason to descend into the reeds or to enter the rocks. The tower is part of a wider valley environment; there is no need to try to go around every meter of the shore.

An idea for your day

Reserve two hours for a quiet stop and a shorter walk. If you want to continue through the Podtrosecky valleys, plan the route separately. Trosky will offer a striking contrast of the high castle to the water view.
