How ceskyraj.app and the Český ráj Android app work, including the upcoming 1.2.1 update.
Web
The website does not contain third-party advertising or analytical scripts. Favorite places are saved in the browser's local storage under the key ceskyraj.saved.v1. The browser can cache website files for offline reading. You delete the data by clearing the data of this website in the browser settings.
When loading a website, the hosting obtains data necessary for transmission, such as the IP address and HTTP request data. They may be part of the operational and security logs of the hosting provider Active24; this website does not add visitor profiles above them.
Searching between guides takes place in the browser above the common public list of places. The location-based selection button will request the location only after being pressed and agreed by the browser; the coordinates are only used for local comparison with the orientation centers of the areas, they are not stored or sent to the web server. You initiate the transition to the neighboring site yourself.
Language and appearance
The default language on the first visit to the main page is based on the connection country specified by the hosting. For the Czech Republic it is Czech, for Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein German, for Poland Polish, for Ukraine Ukrainian and for other or unrecognized countries English. Because of this, the website does not send your IP address to another service and does not require GPS location. Manual language selection takes precedence and is saved under the ceskyraj.language.v1 key. The light or dark theme is governed by the device settings or your choice saved under the ceskyraj.theme.v1 key.
For automatic language selection, the app asks ceskyraj.app for the connection country inferred from the IP address. The server receives the IP address, which may appear in hosting operational and security logs. GPS coordinates, outings and media are not sent to this server. Choosing a language manually stops further requests; offline, the country set on the phone is used.
Location and sharing
Precise and approximate location support the GPS journal and optional capture location. Coordinates are stored on the phone. GPX export contains the exact track and times; a shared image or video may contain coordinates or a route sketch. You initiate the transfer by choosing a receiving app or storage provider, which may upload the data to the cloud under its own rules. The guide works without location or sharing.
Favorites and GPS expeditions in the application
The application does not require an account. Favorites, notes, GPS points and expedition statistics are stored locally in the private area of the application. They are not automatically sent to the server. GPS recording starts only after your action and authorization. It runs as a notification service, can continue when the display is off, and can be paused or terminated.
Photo, video and microphone
Studio uses camera after your action; microphone is optional for video. An in-picture selfie is taken in two steps. The position of the main frame is optional and its insertion into the resulting image requires an additional selection. Original media is not overwritten when editing. The system selection of a photo or video makes only the selected file available.
Sharing and Exporting
GPX export, photo or video saving and sharing are initiated by yourself. The receiving application works with the file according to its own rules. Both the share card and the trip video have the GPS track outline turned on by default; you can turn it off in the editor. As of version 1.1.0, the trip overlay can be added into a 1-60 second section of your own video, or without sound. The statistics refer to the whole trip, not to individual shots. Sketch, photo, video and sound can reveal places and people. Working copies of photos and generated sharing images do not preserve the original EXIF/GPS metadata. A private working copy of the selected video may contain the original metadata; the newly created MP4 video does not inherit its original GPS metadata. Processing takes place on the phone.
Retention and Removal
Local data remains until deleted in the app, its data is cleared or uninstalled. The app's automatic cloud backup is turned off. Work files of the share card and video editor older than seven days are cleaned the next time it is opened; the system may release the cache earlier. Explicitly exported copies remain in the selected destination and are deleted there.
Voluntary support
Support button opens website PayPal only after you click it. You can make any contribution directly to PayPal according to the rules of this service; You do not enter payment information on this website. Posting does not unlock any features, content or other benefits.
External services
A link to Google Maps or another website opens an external service that receives normal connection data. The map background is not loaded automatically. The app does not contain advertising or analytics SDKs.
