Borecké skály
A smaller rocky area near Rovensko pod Troskami can combine forest shade with a striking view of a pair of castle towers.

Forest sections, sandstone formations and views into the surroundings alternate in Borecké skály. The main points include the Svatopluk Čecha viewpoint, also known as Čech's viewpoint, from where you can see Trosky. The recognizable rock formation is the Turtle. For children, finding similarities in a stone can bring the landscape closer to them than a list of names to memorize.
A small rock town with its own pace
Don't treat your visit as just a sight-seeing trip. Try comparing the surface of the rock under the trees with the sunlit part and notice where different layers appear in the sandstone. The place is more intimate in scope than the most famous rock areas, but it is still a natural terrain. At the viewpoint, give space to others and enjoy the view from a safe distance from the edge.
An idea for your day
Allow two hours for a leisurely walking visit to see the rocks. Photo Trosky from a distance can be the start of another day when you head straight to the castle. However, it is not an automatically connected short circuit.
